What an excellent mod! Being able to disable the minimap (while making it a craftable tool instead) is esp. apt for survival servers. The more gameplay challenge the better. Hopefully, I'll get this added to JT2 before the relaunch!

This mod is very useful for railroad building (speed indicator is very useful).

Version 1.2 released! This is a bugfix release.

Updates:
  • Bugfix: The mod crashed when the player attachment object was nil
  • Bugfix: The words “Noon” and “Midnight” disappeared too quickly in the 12h clock
I'm creating MineClone 2, a Minecraft clone for Minetest.
I made the Help modpack, adding in-game help to Minetest.

i used an old version of this mod, so i thought, you had fixed it already but you are still using get_look_yaw and get_look_pitch, this is deprecated and so spams into the debug.txt:

I'm aware of this, but I won't probably make new mod releases for a few weeks now, sorry. But the bugfix is already on the repository.
I'm creating MineClone 2, a Minecraft clone for Minetest.
I made the Help modpack, adding in-game help to Minetest.

Hey Wuzzy, I wonder what happened to the binoculars, now that .4.15 is out and can support it?

I was also wondering if you would consider making the items placeable? Would be neat to read the instruments then, just by pointing at them (and have the value being displayed in the same position on the screen as books use, for instance).

This mod is finished, I don't think I will update it anytime soon.
The binoculars idea has been discarded.
