A simple mod that adds cute and colorful blocks and lights



Smiley Block - punch the block to turn light on and off
Purple Smiley Block - punch the block to turn light on and off
Cute Blocks - an animated block that is very colorful
Colored Cobble - a colorful cobble block
Purple Tile - just a purple tile block
Cane - a candy cane textured large post
Cutepie Light - a smiley face light
Love Bomb - when placed little hearts spawn

I added 4 new blocks. If you play with them you can make different patterns.

What would be awesome is if the Smiley Block was only smiley when it was on, and when it was off it had a frown! Or maybe make another block for that...

Thats a cool idea. I might do that eventually.

Edit: I changed the cute block so it is frowning when the light is off. Smiles when you turn it on. Download link is in the original post. You can download without the frown or with.

Cool mod, it's the first time I see smileys on nodes, so cutes, and candies!
Good mod, good work.

The smiley is especially nice, and the change when turning it on is a very good idea. The rest is a bit colorful for my taste, but there may be situations where individual colored blocks may fit in very well.

This mod was inspired by a 7 year old player. She wanted more color and really wished she had her own mod. I made this for her and she was super happy. Thanks to tablets the average age of players is going down. This will help attract the younger ones.

It's good to have blocks children like. All I wanted to say that some of those blocks might even be useful in more serious buildings - just in smaller quantities. And the smiley is really very nice!

I apreciate your comment and all the positive comments that people have given. I am just glad that I can give a little back. I have been playing the game for a while and have seen all the hard work people such as yourself has put into making minetest great.

I take notes on my kid's thoughts when it come to this game. They come up with the neatest ideas. And since they think like kids, they know what kids want.
I'd bet most people who participate in this forum are more interested in they "behind the scenes" rather then the feel of gameplay. So I believe getting into the heads of the target audience is valuable.

I'd agree that using the blocks isn't something I'd really have interest in. But my eight year old daughter has your blocks all over our map. And I'm pretty surprised with the clever ways she has used them.

Added an new block

Napiophelios sent me his work. It is a lovebomb. When placed several hearts go all over the place and then fade away.
It has been added to the cutepie mod.
Thank you Napiophelios for this.

LoveBomb is a modified/reduced version of Traxie21's Health potion.
On use= heals player fully (20)
on place= gives you the explosion of hearts
