[Mod] Lucky Block [0.4][lucky_block]

After so many YouTube videos showing Lucky Blocks for Minecraft, I give to you the Lucky Block mod for Minetest :) with an easy to use API for adding new blocks and support for some of the already existing mods, this mod can bring goodies and excitement to all players :) To craft a Lucky Block use 1 chest surrounded by gold ingots...
Lucky Blocks included for: default, farming, simple mobs, mobs redo, homedecor, boats, carts, 3d_armor, fire, moreores, bows ...
with more available when running certain mods (bakedclay, cblocks, ethereal, farming redo, hoppers, protection redo, teleport potion and more).

So, is this mod basically the same as Surprise Blocks apart from different dependencies and textures? :P

Never noticed your mod before wuzzy, although any chance to create a little excitment in Minetest is a good idea :)

Lucky Blocks, eh? If you are willing to add those to Minetest, then you might not have a problem with adding the following either:
https://youtu.be/qrKne_sWbVIWhat you are seeing in this video that I found is something similar to the infamous Terry Traps of Doom 2. Basically, they kill and respawn the player repeatedly (thus the rapid teleporting around) while spamming annoying text and playing loud, irritating sounds (sometimes, flashing colors are used too.) These are great for players that die during Hunger Games matches as well as punishing griefers and trolls. Of course, they could also use your lucky blocks to get players trapped in them.

Hrm, somehow I think that players would complain if I added that one, plus anyone troubled with seizures wouldn't be to happy either.

I am really digging this mod! Oops, no pun intended. My kids are having a great time with it. Only problem... It's keeping me from updating my other mods. :)
I closed the pull request I made the other night because I was not happy with it. Please check out my current fork when you get the time and let me know what you think. Feel free to use anything from it that you like.

Updated to version 0.2 ... Added commands to the api that purges all lucky blocks, can purge chest items and also add to chest items ... Thanks blert2112.
blert: I'll keep lucky blocks as a single mod to save over-complicating things, although your new commands will help clean the slate so server owners and mod makers can add their own lucky blocks from scratch instead of using defaults which are primarily used as examples anyhow :)

Yeah, the well looked quite nice but have been meaning to add one to lucky_block for a while kinda like the mc one.

I had originally made it to look like the one from MC but it would require either making new nodes for the top or depending on a stairs mod. If I went the stairs route then which of the many, many stairs mods to depend on (stairs, stairs-redo, stairsplus, xdecor, etc)?
If you throw in an item, or jump in, it will strike lightning and clear the water. Have yet to figure out how to make it drop stuff, or explode, or whatever.

The exploding part is easy thankfully, it's the design of the well I'm tinkering with just now... I also wanted beacons as well, but that is proving to be more difficult than the actual lightning effect I added.

This one has negative drops, and also has better drops (drops higher quality stuff, diamond swords, bronze swords, etc.)

Some of the functions work only when a player opens the lucky block, so sadly no mesecons support.
Update: Added more 3d_armor and shields blocks.

Oh, ok. I'll stop being lazy and actually look at the code before I ask questions in the future......
If I remember to...EDIT: Why is there {"nod", "default:lava_source", 1}, only if the hopper mod is installed?

When adding lucky blocks for other mods it's always handy to add some nice blocks and some bad one's to mix it up a little, so theres a chance of giving a hopper or spawning lava under the player :) otherwise it would be boring getting good stuffs all the time.

I was just wondering why it was under "hopper" and not part of default... That's all.

drawtype = nodebox will crash the game if you click with screwdriver.
I added some simple animated textures for fun, see if you like it.

Thanks Napiophelios, fixed the nodebox and protector variable bugs and added support for animated textures... Would be nice to see other servers using their own lucky block textures :)
