Leaded Glass Panes for MINETEST

Here is a mod that adds leaded-style glass panes. The colored panes are semi-transparent, with a textured look. There is also a clear pane that shares some of the texturing. I personally use the 256x256 textures, but I've also provided 128x128, 64x64, 32x32, and 16x16.

The panes don't glow on their own. If you want a nice effect, provide back-lighting.



This mod was originally based on the xpanes mod.

I don't know squat about LUA (or its use in Minetest either), so if anyone takes a look and notices something horrible, please let me know. (That being said, I'm an old Java programmer, so please don't complain about myVariableNames.)

Recipes are shapeless and simple: one glass block + one steel ingot + dye produces six panes.
If your game has lead as an ore, you can configure the mod to use lead (or whatever) instead of the steel ingot.

This is pretty cool! I'm not really into high quality textures (anything above 32x32), but still pretty neat. This kinda goes with a mod I've been working on, moreglass (WIP). I'm planning on adding another 60-ish nodes for panes soon. I hate how I always make mods so complicated... lol

This is definitely good for something simple though, moreglass currently has:
12 opaque glass,
12 opaque glow glass,
12 stained glass,
12 stained glow glass,
12 clean stained glass,
12 clean opaque stained glass,
...and counterparts of the default glass as well.

It gets a little complicated to deal with as a player, so I really like that this has a bit simpler approach. Nice work!

Thanks. I really wanted panes rather than blocks as well as a somewhat realistic frame around the pane (not just a darker color of the glass). I'll take another look at moreglass.

D00Med, I wish I could tell you. I like realistic textures, and I've been collecting/modifying them for quite a while. I'm using a combination of VanessaE-hdx, HavenNG, and who knows what. I find I've had to adjust the colors on most everyone's textures to get the realistic "feel" I'm after.
