I think its now (since 0.4.4?) possible to update/remove the lightsource without placing the cobble. At least in my local copy my walking-light mod works without a lost light node.

Aqua, i have an idea for the crafting,
What about these night vison goggles are crafted using 3 mesecon torches and glass? Example:
M= Mesecon torch
G= Glass

MMM
GGG

This would make the crafting very simple. Also why not make a Stealth meter, That shows how visible you are? Sam fisher has one.

Crafting is too easy, it should at least have a steel ingot. Besides I don't want it to depend on Mesecons.

I'm an Old Mese user but I'm thinking about using Mese Crystals. Where can I download this? And can someone please explain this to me.

Just fetch and compile the latest git sources of minetest and minetest_game. Old mese didn't go away, it ultimately got a new texture and got more rare and valuable than before.

definitely cool however this is a bit like the walking light mod because night vision allows you to see all of the world just like it was day.
