[Mod] Flintstone [0.2 beta] [flint]

by BlockMen » Fri Mar 08, 2013 12:53

This little mod introduces Flintstone to Minetest.

Flintstone is droped by Gravel when digged with a chance of 10%.
It is needed for crafting a lighter, which is used to place fire. A Lighter can be used 65 times until it breaks.

Lighters are used to place fire

Recipe (for Lighter):
Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.
Code: Select all
steel ingot          -
       -         flintstone

Depends:
default
fire

Download:
Version 0.2: last Release
Version 0.1: beta version

Notice: works with Minetest 0.4.5

Thanks for the hint, i looked at them now. The first has not implemented the drop of flint by digging gravel and the "lighter" has no count of uses. The second uses an own type of fire and also has no count of uses.

So I think my mod is different enough.

Fire can only placed on nodes, so place it beside the creeper.

With Version 0.2 it should not crash anymore.

I forget if I got this mod, :P
I lost interest in Minetest for a couple of years and... I am still not really paying much attention. I rarely browse these forums anymore but it's nice to see old faces.

Hi, I have noticed, that Minetest already have fire in it, so the dependency on mod "fire" has to be removed to proper work of this mod (i have removed that from depends.txt by myself and it is working, but you might update your mod for other users)

THX BTW for MOD

Tried it. The link for 0.2 seems to work fine (now).

Similar to the fake fires mod and the other flint and steel one. I like how there is a 10% of flint dropping from gravel although... although that is too alike to Mine Craft.

Otherwise great mod :)
