Can you help me? I'm trying to make veins of my block(ore) spawn throughout the stone layers at any levels. I don't know how to do this. I also need to know how to make the ore block drop my ore instead of the ore block.

The default game now has gold, copper, and bronze. Tin, silver, and mythril are the only ones that were not added (though I do wish they were.)

I think even those might be a bit too much for the default minetest_game. Gold and diamond were necessary and I'm glad those are in, but other than that I'd have suggested one more ore type at most (either copper or bronze, not both). If the two ores have different purposes however, and have various uses from one another, it is a good idea then. Too many ores by default would probably make things too big and complex though.

The new moreores init.lua doesn't recognize bronze and several other items. I just upgraded to the run in place version of 0.4.6. I had to use the old_init.lua version.

Its because minetoon textures are like 256x and default ones are 16x. The game doesnt scale the smaller textures up when overlaying larger textures. They arent hidden just really small in top left corner.

If silver, tin, and mythril will not be added to the base game of Minetest, can this mod have only them for the time being and remove the ores that are now in the base game?

Ore maybe you can check for them cause some people use custom games and this will remove them.

I've updated this mod to use 0.4.6 ore functions.
If my remove_craft function is added to core this mod also removes the silly bronze craft.

When I load a world with you new version it says that it "failed to load init.lua". Lua libraries seem to be installed on my computer (BLAG 140K). Any idea?

Did you rename the folder to moreores? That's usually what causes those errors.

So mods with special characters cannot be loaded? That sounds crazy, but that worked. Thanks.

The ores that are now part of the default game of Minetest are still in here (copper, bronze, and gold.) Will this mod still generate those ores anyway?

No, they were removed from "init.lua".

Would you mind about adding aluminium? I'm just making a mod of aluminium stuff, so I added aluminium to your mod. It would be an abundant metal, but not really resistent.

Meh, no.

Anyway, this mod lost most of its usefulness over time, I think there are enough ores in the default game now, lots of mods add their own ores too.

Technic still uses this mod, unless it is planned that the leftover ores of this mod will be added to that mod.

I think that here should be a "standard" mod on which other mods that use ores should be based. For example, having 2 differents mods that use their own silver will make 2 kinds of silver, but if both mods used silver from More Ores, there would be only 1 kind of silver.
How do I send you the code that I wrote and the images I created?

there are so many standard mods that I stopped to count.

I think I'll keep this mod compatible to latest core versions for some time ... or at least until someone decides to change that silly bronze recipe in default ;-)

I like the textures in Calinou's latest release of moreores (except for the rather bland one for the mithril block) better. Could you use those (except for the one for the mithril block) instead? They fit better with the textures of the base ores.

The version of moreores beyond the link above seems to be the newest. It has the textures I spoke of.

great calinous version is even newer so I don't have to maintain it ... I hope calinou was smart enough to copy instead of redo everything I did ;-P

Does this have to be added before world generation?

I know there's copper already in the main game. Any issues I should know of? I am pondering adding this on account of VanessaE's recommendation in conjunction with her furniture mod.
