[Mod] Item frames and pedestal [github] [itemframes]

Hello ! Here is my new mod...
Item framesWhat it does: the name says it all, it allows you to put items inside frames. And pedestals now (thanks Inocudom for idea).
Depends on default
License is WTFPL.

Crafting recipe:
Usage: right click the frame or pedestal to put your wield item in it. Left click to remove it.
Notice: all frames and pedestals are locked, only the one who placed them can put/take stuff from them.

Could you have it take the stuff. When i left click it doesnt drop the item.

Try to right click with your hand (no item)

I was a bit lazy finding a fitting translation...
With clean up I meant hanging up your tools, like putting them on a rack, on the wall or on a shelf while mining. It allows you to make a lot of (different) tools (and locked chests) in advance. I'm one of those players that mines until the crafting grid is also full.
I'd like to see this mod on some servers.

Yeah, good point, then you don't have to open a chest to put your tools inside...
By the way, my server has this mod, though it's not open 24/7
Also, I just made a better texture, just re-download the mod (or git pull) to update.

Zeg you could use the could you have this mod take your item when it is put it.Though I love how I can add a visual for my chests.

hey @ Zeg9 will be with this mod leave items, eg the square they are dropped 3D, will be that this works coms items?

I'm unsure I understood it right, but the item frames DO take the item from your inventory.

The item appears in the frame like when you hold it in the hand, if that's what you wanna know

Don't you think about 26 or 6 mese blocks?
The anticrystal would be used to craft really powerful tools (or an all-in-one tool), and it would be more interesting...
By "put" I ment "place": this would be a reaction between the blocks, and it would only require one mese block and one ruby to do it.

@Hybrid Dog: I finally implemented it: it requires at least one mese block next to a ruby block, and in a radius of 2 blocks in every direction, it will destroy every node - with a chance of 1/2, except mese and ruby that have 1/1 chance of being destroyed, and create anticrystal where ruby blocks were. I'll upload the mod/patch soon (should I make it as a patch for main game, or as a mod?)

Yeah, let's go back to item frames. If you clearobjects, the items will reappear after a short delay, and they will never get lost (apart if I missed something or there is a bug in minetest, but this shouldn't happen)

I LOVE this mod, its awesome, but the only problem i have is that the selection box on the frame is as if its a normal block. Any way to change that?

You can, as suggested by Hybrid Dog, use the newest version of minetest, but I'll modify the mod to make it "compatible" with 0.4.6
EDIT: Now, you just have to redownload the mod (or git pull) and it will work with your version (I think)

This mod shouldn't collide with any other, except if they use the same crafting recipe, but you can easily change this.

-make the fram an antity but make it 3d
-allow items to rotate in the frame
-when make a function where certain times it is placed in side the frame(taken from inven)(why func. so crreative mode of other mods will allow it)

- Why an entity? These aren't really good, they are mostly buggy and there is no real way to save meta inside them.
- Rotating stuff in the frame would require to re-define the items, or to have some way to change the pitch of an entity, but this isn't available yet. (or maybe you have a trick to do it)
- Do you mean that people in creative mod shouldn't lose their items ?

Forget creative mode. Mainly when you place an item in a frame the item is taken.

A bug I found making this
http://forum.minetest.net/viewtopic.php?pid=84616#p84616 was when I exited the items were not saved. Maybe you should have it ,make an entity form each item.

The items are saved inside the node itself, it should reappear after 5 seconds IIRC.
EDIT: fixed the abm, now it should reappear after 2 seconds. The problem was that it had 1/2 chance of happening.

Is this mod still being worked on? If so, would it be possible to make locked frames and frames capable of having more than one item in them?

Frames are locked by default, but I may work on having more items (if I get enough motivation :/).

You could make display pedestals to go along with the frames.
With some items (like the doors of the homedecor mod) the game crashes and the stack-traceback-nil-value error comes up when you try to display them in frames.
