[Mod] Crafting [2.0.1] [crafting]

Hi everyone,

this mod changes the players inventory to a really Minecraft similar, with more slots (9*4 instead of 8*4).
Like known from Minecraft you have a 2x2 crafting grid at inventory now. Furthermore a categorized creative inventory and support for stu's 3darmor mod [0.4].

Left items in the crafting slots are always dropped infront of you.

To use all crafting recipes you will need a workbench, which is crafted following way:

wood wood
wood wood -> Output: 1 Workbench

If items are left in the crafting field of the workbench when quitting the form they are dropped in front of.

Furthermore you have reworked inventorys of chests (4 slots more) and furnaces (just one output slot) and a MC-like textured hotbar with 9 slots.

Does this have a creative version? I will see if I can make the creative if it doesn't have it.

No, it doesn't have yet, but i'm working on. But thanks for the offer ;)

No, it is not compatible with inventory plus and won't be. It should be as similar as possible to the default minecraft crafting.

But support for armor mods is planned...

After you have finished creative i might add it. Of course things will be changed but also use imaged buttons togo to the seperate pats and witht he serch one you canuse RBA's UI mod. Over the trash spot add a clear all cause in minecraft shift+click trash spot. usesthat.Check out the inventor mod for minitest because that has mod suppoert for stu's armor mod

I just tested it some 5 minutes, and sometimes I was not able to put items into specific fields of the 3x3 crafting table. The fields are marked below.

Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to see any system behind it on a quick look, but I'll play around with it a bit and also have a look at the code (probably something when swapping inventory sizes and/or inventory formspecs).

I see in the screenshot that there are armor slots. Is armor going to bed added?

It would be better if you could have the minetest character on the side instead of MC's character, and make the crafting gui look like minetest's deafult inventory gui. That way it will be different from minecraft :)

OK Block men if you are interested I found a way to allow just the crafting table/workbench to work by itself kinda. When I release the next version of Minitest go into Minitest/mods/inventory/workbench.lua

If you want change the character you can replace "crafting_inventory_player.png". But this mod aims to be as similar as minecraft's inventory, so i wont change that.

This has been added to minitest to an extent. The crafting table from this has been added and i do plan on adding a background. Though i am reluctant to add a background due to the constant changing of the inventory. Maybe i might just add an overall bacground.

How i said sometimes before: " In my opinion Minetest is to become a better Minecraft. But that includes of cause also Minecraft features..."
And to this mod, in my opinion it makes more fun using a workbench for crafting.

Furthermore: I dont really know what you aiming at with your question. This is a mod, so you dont have to add this.
And why not offering the possiblity to change the way of crafting? As you can see here there are ppl who are interested in this too.

My two cents, BlockMens mods have a sense of completeness that I admire, I don't really mind that the mods are minecraft-like.

I love the idea of more equipment in Minetest, this mod is for my taste to similar to minecraft.
It'll be great if you can chage it.

I know your goal was the workbench has to look equally but this isn`t the right way at all.
Our goal should be to make it better not just to copy it.

in no way i was trying to say that it is bad, mostly because it is optional. and i just wondered, why would you play minetest if you make minecraft mods. ok, i got your idea/point
