Update: build #20150107-1729. This update mostly brings in things from upstream minetest_game, with minor tweaks as needed: farming mod has been updated, and screwdriver mod has been updated to the new rewritten version that uses left-click and right-click for rotating things (instead of shift-punch to set different modes), default and jungle saplings have been added to saplings=1 group (PilzAdam), furnace rewrites (PilzAdam), and imported some imagery from upstream. Also, rails now yield 24 per craft (Calinou).

does anyone have a guide how to build a network with Dreambuilder? I tried to make one. Unfortunately it didn't fuction.

Just want to report that the planting of wheat seeds and cotton seeds are broken. ( farming )
When you try to plant the seed it shows for about a second and then disappear again back into your inventory.
This is on dirt that has been treated with the hoe already. ( soil )

Update: build #20150109-1325 -- big update today. I've rebased Dreambuilder against upstream minetest_game's codebase, but kept all the old textures we were using before. All the mods and features you all are used to are still the same except for where minetest_game has since added something. In general, all you should see is better performance in places, a new node or two, and cleaner code (if you dig into it), thanks to minetest_game developers.

In addition, farming_plus, prefab, and castles mods got updated. The latter two just needed tweaks for the current doors API.

Marshall_maz, that farming_plus update fixes your bug.

Sulgarar, I don't understand your question. What do you mean by a network?

e.g. if you go into the inventory (in Creative Mode) you can search for an item which is called LV CNC Machine. If you open it you can choose several geometric forms. Now I'd like to know how to use it.

Hi Vanessa,

I love Dreambuilder, I use it with my friends on my creative mode server, we all love it!

I was wondering though, why is the creative mod empty? In particular the ability to quickly delete blocks is nice, so I usually drop in in place to have that. Is there another way to remove blocks I am missing?

Anyway, thanks a ton, and keep up the good work!

Sulgarar, elevators are simple. You just place one, which creates an internal network for it, then you just place another directly above or below it at exactly the same X/Z coordinates, and it automatically gets added to that first elevator's network. I believe the first one placed gets marked as "ground" or "first" floor, and the others are counted up/down from there. Additional networks are created by placing more elevators elsewhere at unique X/Z coordinates, so basically the whole column from -31k to +31k is assigned to all elevators in that column.

YoukaiCountry, the creative mod is blanked so that Unified Inventory can manage the creative system on its own, without any of the default creative functions/settings getting in the way, but without deleting it entirely. I seem to remember some mod (maybe UI) checking for its existence, but not actually *using* it, and some function worked better if it existed, hence it has been empty but present ever since.

If you want to be able to dig a block quickly, use a maptools admin pick. Item name, maptools:pick_admin_with_drops

Sulgarar , that machine is part of the Technic mod. You need an LV electric network that it must be connected to , you can look for info and help here: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2538

Update: build #20150110-1055, brought in more code updates from upstream minetest_game thanks to PilzAdam. Some of the updates add obsidian and obsidian-brick stairs and slabs (CraigyDavi), preliminary mgv5/mgv7 biome support (paramat), and a minor texture tweak for the furnace UI.

Update, build #20150111-1111, fixed crash related to mapgen params with builds that lack minetest.get_mapgen_params() calls (including 0.4.11-release). I guess the 1's have it with this build. :-)

EDIT: build #20150111-1247, re-enabled the round mesh-based default apple.

EDIT #2, build #20150111-1504, updated angled walls (takes a steel pick or better to remove now, before they used a sword. copy&paste error)

EDIT #3: build #20150111-1604, updated moreores, moreblocks, maptools, areas, streets, mesecons, and xban2.

EDIT #4: build #20150111-1627, updated moreores, maptools, and moreblocks again :-)

I'm wondering if anyone else has ever run across rampant crashing of Dreambuilder. Everything looks nice for a little while, then minetest simply exits. My debugger asks if it can help. :P I have tried on 32 and 64 bit builds, as well as a January 9th build of 64 bit from sfan5. "minetest_game" seems to run as expected for long periods of time with no crashing.

Hi Vanessa ,

I suddenly have a lot of unknown nodes flying around in my world. It started after I installed the latest version of Dreambuilder from git at time of writing. According to server log it's the mobs that is undefined and causing it. What I don't understand though is at the same time it is spawning new rats as you will see from the log. Very weird.

Using Minetest 0.4.11 stable on Ubuntu 14.04 with latest Dreambuilder

EDIT: I "think" I know what is causing it. Quite some time ago I used a mobs mod that is not in use any more.
Might be some of that old mod's mobs left over in the map.

kennebel, that's most likely a memory leak in the engine - there are a few pretty bad ones in the current 0.4.11 Minetest release. Also bear in mind that Dreambuilder needs at least 2-3 GB of RAM to run well, as it has tons of stuff compared to plain minetest_game.

Marshall_maz: mobs:chicken would definitely not be something dreambuilder creates (there are no mods in this game which create that kind of creature as far as I know). That's likely leftovers from that other mobs mod you were using before. There may be a glitch in the carbone_mobs mod regarding rats, though.

Meanwhile, build #20150115-0630 is up (updated pipeworks)

You must update infrastructure immediately, VanessaE. Some critical crash bugs were fixed recently.

EDIT: build #20150122-1828 (I think*): since this game is intended for 0.4.11 and up, I made moreblocks use "glasslike_framed_optional" drawtype in all of its glass items (it also still attempts to override default glass, but it points to that same drawtype, so the override does nothing now :-) ).

Build #20150123-0037, set enable_mesh_cache = false by default in the game's minetest.conf. This saves about 800 MB of RAM on singleplayer games, dropping your usage to under 1.5 GB; users who are playing on a server that uses this game, please add that setting to your own minetest.conf also.
