FOSS gamedev and creative worlds

i think someone should make a map kinda like the spellbound caves map in minecraft... I have no idea on how to make any thing concerning maps and mods.

Have you taken a look at the modding tutorial at http://api.minetest.net? IIRC the new wiki doesn't have a tutorial yet, so follow the link to the old site.
