Neither. There are borders at 30,000 blocks in all directions, So minetest is a 60,000 x 60,000 x 60,000 block cube.

but i thought that the number one difference between minetest and minecraft is that minetest has no limits??

Even if you only build in the surface, 60000x60000 is no small world. If you play survival singleplayer, most likely you won't even cover a 1000x1000 area, and even in multiplayer, it can take years to fill up the surface of the map. More so if you like to build in the sky or underground.
