Has anyone compiled a list with download links of some good maps?
From my brief time browsing here, one area where minetest seems a little thin is in compilations of user created maps, whereas there's no shortage of mods and quite a few texture packs. I haven't seen any map close in scale the many popular maps that minecraft users are constantly posting.

Have a look at Karsthafen. That's a very well-built map. Apart from that, most good buildings are found on servers. It's "build your own" instead of "download ready-made" :-)

Yup, that's a very good one! I don't disagree with the build your own philosophy, but I think maps like these are a good advertisement for minetest. It would be nice if there were more.
