Story
Long time ago, the world of rpgtest was a nice place. People invented machines, built gigantic structures and explored the world. But after some time the world of rpgtest suddenly turned into a scary place to live. For some reason, monsters started spawning everywhere. Normal people were not able to live normally in this world anymore. They decided to build houses in trees, because monsters weren't able to climb up things. For some that worked pretty well, but others had problems getting food up there. A group of explorers had a different idea, they decided to build islands in the sky, far away from their hometown. They build a complete ecosystem on these islands and were able to live there by doing so. When they had a basic food source, they sent back some good explorers to try and find the others.

My suggestion: use something other than magic

Magic is highly overused, and to be honest it's kind of creepy when you stop and think about what those witches and wizards are actually doing.....

Not to be offensive, but it appears someone is still practicing pixel art :D

Some guidelines:
  • The border on tools has to be almost black to look good
  • Tools need to be slightly shaded
  • Detail shouldn't repeat too easily, make it pseudo-randomish.

Look at Pixture's textures to get an idea of how to do mediocre pixel art :)
Never paint white stripes on roads near Zebra crossings.

What exactly are they doing? Please feel free to be more specific.


Personally, I love fantasy based games of all flavors, and strongly encourage more magic, which I feel isn't used enough (in Minetest, at least). 90% of what I see here is circuits and gears. I get to deal with those plenty in real life -- it gets a little old.

I like the idea. You may have some inspiration from a very good role play server for Minecraft which is named Thronecraft

Keep the game simple with basic materials.
You may look and adapt this Myriad Lite

Myriad Lite is a project to adapt a pen-and-paper role-playing game rulebook into OpenSimulator Xengine and SecondLife Mono scripts, and the related 3D objects, needed to implement a pen-and-paper role-playing game in 3D virtual worlds.

Myriad is a free-usage RPG system:

engineer=builder combine these, is the same thing

You may use potions with materials and biomes to have glow materials and biomes.

I was an Opensimulator user, and some things like glow materials I think will be cool for your mod or subgame. Something like that will be nice :

Wow, this looks very good!
I think about glowing ores...
I added some glowing flowers some days ago :)
