Which MG are you talking about? v7 is incomplete, for a trailer, you might want to try out 'PilzTest' by PilzAdam. v6 is the old one. Singlenode, and Math are for developer use only.
7:42 PM - Bauglio: I think if you go to staples you could steal firmware from a fax machine that would run better than win10 does on any platform
7:42 PM - Bauglio: so fudge the stable build
7:43 PM - Bauglio: get the staple build

I use the v6. The map its generated is consist mainly of cobblestone. Where I can get the Pilztest map gen file?

PilzTest is a Minetest sub_game. Google it. You'll find a github page for it. Cownload it from there and extract it in the 'games' folder.

is it a little bit faster response? it seems that way to me

anyway, great job!

it compiles fine on linux mint 15 and supports my crazy mods so i am very happy

if the static error and entity duplication has really been eliminated then i can use entities (oh my!) and that opens up a very big can of awesomeness!

i will make a tester mod that will really abuse the entities and see...oh yes i have the very thing for that! - should be fun! - later!

Depending on your flavor of linux, "Yes" or "No". Primarily, the download page has several links. Otherwise, you can compile it yourself. Compilation is pretty straightforward if you have the right libraries already installed.
I noticed that Fedora Rawhide has 0.4.8 set for testing, so it's probably in that repo right now.
Ubuntu has 0.4.8 posted already too.
Puppy doesn't seem to yet.

So on and so forth. Please check the download page on the official minetest website for a link to your distribution, before asking. This is in that class of questions where the research is easy to perform so you look pretty silly for asking.

I don''t think so, because there aren't screenshots... only links to screenshots.
with real screenshots on the website it would look better because you can see all in one look.
And I liked the background... but it isn't there now...
Otherwise you're right, it looks mor modern, but I wish that there are some screenshots, perhaps four or less...

I'm liking 0.4.8. I'm seeing performance improvements, some bugs are gone, extra api options. Mapgen v7 looks great so far. All around solid work.

I think that's a nice compromise layout. It still looks like every other basic website out there. However it's not completely sanitized and devoid of colour like what we've got currently.

0.4.8 - first FPS=0 and out of memory error - that never happenned in in 0.4.7 with the same code

the world is gigantic, and i was doing one of my huge lua world mapgens, then after a string of mapgens as long as your arm, i got 0 fps for a while and then it threw out of memory

same computer, r was on forcing the load as usual - singleplayer (server on the same machine) and a HUGE 75mb points{} table to be generated - latest 0.4.8 compiled from git on linux mint 15 and my singlenode+nolight shupa mapgen

nothing spectacular, but i have done the exact same thing with the exact same code in 0.4.7 and didn't get the error - could be a bazillion things but let's hope it is not a memory leak/growth issue

just ran it again after a reboot - we will see if it is repeatable

This seems to be a mod issue.

Could you build minetest 0.4.8 for ubuntu 11.10, too, please? I think opengl <= 1.3 isn't supported any more since ubuntu 12.04.

For some reason I dont have the option to do that, sorry.

I guess this is the error

12:07:43: ERROR[EmergeThread0]: ERROR: An unhandled exception occurred: LuaError: not enough memory

nope, not a mod issue - i was just one of those weird odd memory things because it is not repeatable (yay) - maybe firefox? - working fine now

thanks anyway

minetest 0.4.8 compiled from latest git on linux mint 15 with qjoypad and wired 360 controller
freeminer, pilztest, buildcraft and next are the idea factories
my minetest page is http://1337318.zymichost.com if zymic isn't down - meh, it is free...

i think superos is still 11.10 and is still supported - i looked at it once for something but didn't use it because it was old

but if you have superos you can easily complie it - instructions are in the readme that nobody reads
