I have 2 questions!
1. What are Mese shards used for???
2. Are there any shaders for Minetest? Because I want it to look BEUTIFUL!(I think I misspelled beutiful)
1. Nothing in the default game. 2. Yes, there can be shaders. It's just that no one has made any. Except Bump Mapping by RealBadAngel (which is in default)GingerHunter797 wrote:I have 2 questions!

1) shaders are not mods and are infact gpu instructions on how to make the world look better.GingerHunter79 wrote:I hope someone will make a shaders mod for Minetest one day.

2) only opengl users will get access to the shaders, users who are using direct3d are out of luck.
3) shaders create a noticible performance hit, as people the latest gpus maybe only able to use them without losing performance. (Not entirely sure on how NEW they need to be...)
Out of luck referred to the current state of shadersBlockMen wrote:Jordach wrote:1) shaders are not mods and are infact gpu instructions on how to make the world look better.GingerHunter79 wrote:I hope someone will make a shaders mod for Minetest one day.

2) No, users of direct3d are not in general "out of luck", but we need someone to write HLSL shaders while opengl uses GLSL shaders. (the default shaders atm)
