by kriskovski » Tue Apr 15, 2014 19:35

I read on the forums that development stopped.
And is there a mod or some other way to dig and brake stud instantly( i need it to break iron instantly).

You read something wrong then.
The topic you read was probably the one about minetest_game.
Here's an excellent explanation by Calinou:

The engine is programmed in C++, uses Irrlicht, OpenAL and many more. It's what lets you run games, sometimes called subgames, which are programmed in Lua.

minetest_game was the official game for the Minetest engine; it is still available but now in maintainance mode.

yes i saw that, but whats a game with a shitty engine, if they are not developing new features for the engine, then IMO i thing the game is dead too, or minetest will move to a new engine

You've got it the wrong way round.
Work on the game is stopping, but work on the Minetest engine is carrying on..

No, no, you got it wrong.
The Minetest engine will still be developed further, the development of the Minetest subgame will be frozen.
The next release (0.4.10) will include other subgames such as BFD, Minetest NeXt, Carbone.

If you mean Minetest with a few tweaks is a new game ok... why Minetest will be frozen?

For information about activity on the Minetest-Engine study the GitHub site for Minetest

Study in the changelog the topmost section with the question mark to learn what is allready included in the dev version and thus allready done for the next version release.

The TODO List will give insight into the future development goals of Minetest.

Lurk on the Minetest- Development chanel on IRC to see what the developers are talking about at the moment.

You may find some information on what the Minetest-Game is on the Wiki.

Games do not need to have just a few tweaks.
The Realtest game e.g. takes a completly new apporach.
