Deprecated mod forum

by lightonflux » Wed Sep 24, 2014 21:16

Hello,

there are several mods that are dead and don't run on recent Minetest versions. And now and then it happens that someone tries the mod and gets disappointed and resurrects the thread with a "bug report". Example.

Maybe we should move all unsupported and non-working "mod release threads" in a read only forum to save new players and supporters time.

Indeed, "Old Mods" is for that purpose (there is a sticky explaining the rules).

You can report such mods in "Topic move requests", stating the reason.

It's not bad if there's intrest for old mods. Modders can see what players are intrested in, and if the poster is very lucky, someone might either know a way to get the mod to run with a recent Minetest version, explain how it's solved now, or point the poster to another mod that does something similar. There could be much worse posts than those asking in the thread reserved for a mod about a recent problem with that particular mod. Even with those where the download link got lost there's a chance that someone might have a local copy.
A list of my mods can be found here.
