Speed of both Technic and Mesecons wrong

Hi Guys ,

I have a strange problem and 2 different mods is affected which lets me to believe it's a global server
problem. Hence posting my question here in general rather than in those mod sections.

My technic machinery every now and then runs too slowly. For example , the quarry would dig 1 node per 3 seconds instead of 1 node per 1 second. At the same time machinery like MV furnaces , grinders , compressors etc takes longer to start processing and the processing itself takes longer.

At the same time , mesecons also runs too slow , for example blinking plants takes much longer per blink.
It's as if the whole world runs too slow.

Here's the strange part , it only happens now and then. It's not permanently like that.
It would be fine for 3 or 4 days , then suddenly for two days it's like that.
It's not an FPS thing as client side FPS stays the same always. Even when everything runs so slowly my FPS
is still the same as usual.
No software or mods was changed server side or client side , no hardware was changed server side or client side when this start to happen.
Resources in use server side is very low ( CPU doesn't even reach 10% and ram even less at about 7% )

So my question is , what can cause the server to go into a kind of slow-motion mode like that without any software
or any settings being changed ?
And , how do I fix it ?

Technical specs: Server runs Ubuntu 14.04 64bit ( CPU: i7 Ram: 8gig DDR3)
Minetest stable 0.4.10 in dedicated server mode
Server uses VanessaE's dreambuilder game

Additional info: When this occurs I tested different clients: Ubuntu 14.04 and Windows , all 0.4.10. All clients have
that same slowness in the world. So it seems that it's a server side issue.

Any ideas ?

The client is somehow able to create lag by itself when many nodes swap (turn off/on) or get dug.
I guess not only the meseons is slow, also the time from saying "/status" until you get the answer.

Nope , everything else is fine. /status /teleporting etc.

It's not lag
