someone changed locked chests on multiplayer server (SOLVED)

Is there a way on a multi-player server for someone else to get into locked chests? I had one and a friend had one nearby, and both have been renamed and I cannot get into mine. What could have happened (besides having my password guessed?)

An admin could have changed it, or it could be a bug. You should post this on the server it's on.

Caps actually matter for your name, but maybe it doesn't matter in locked chests?
Like you lock a chest as "Player", and if somebody has "player" as name it can open your chests too?

Caps do matter, usernames are case sensative for anything in the game... What mods are on server, maybe one could have been used to subvert your ownership...

I'm nearly certain it's somebody with admin privileges, since nearby there are structures that require the "fly" priv. I don't know anything about being an admin - can a full admin rename a chest by mistake simply by trying to open it?

I spoke to the owner last week before this, and he seemed chill. For now I'm trying to be calm since I haven't spoken to the owner or the person who did it. There are people who don't speak English well, and some younger folks so for now I hope it wasn't malicious. .

As far as mods, there's "protection", and these 2 chests were both outside of it. I didn't think at the time that it would be a problem. I've made a new locked chest inside my house, inside the zone of protection.

If it was an actual Locked Chest then admin cannot change this, only remove it... if it was a Protected Chest (from protector mod) then admin have the delprotect privelage which allows them to open the chest and rename it...

So I just met the guy. He claims to be 12 and speaks mainly spanish. It isn't clear that he understood why it was wrong to take over the chests He returned my stuff to me, AND my other friends stuff - so I have to give that back when my other friend is on.
. I don't know how he has admin privs, but I will move away from that area. He wants friends, but the language barrier (and the breach of trust!!!) are a bit too much.

My mother languaje is spanish. Please say the name of this subject, so we can be aware. Also say the server, it could be, either "hack", cheats, or even a mistake.
Also, maybe we can meet him, you, and I in the server and discuss this.

The server is Krondor, (krondor.neoascetic.me), my char name there is Dusken, and this kid goes by either superg777 or superg12. I really like the server even though it's PvP, and this problem is really the only issue i have had in 2 weeks on there. I spoke to the owner the first week i was there, he seems pretty nice.

The kid wants to be "friends", but he went about it pretty poorly. And I do know that I cannot be certain that anything he told me is true. But at least he returned our stuff with no argument.

EDIT - oh and I saw him give back the stuff - he destroyed the chests first, and then "Q" dropped everything in them onto the ground, for me to pick up.
