Automated Stainless Steel.

by DoyleChris » Sun Jan 10, 2016 20:20

I am trying to make some automated systems for making things.

I have a Automated system to make Carbon Steel, which is easy because all you need is 1 coal and 1 iron. so I made 2 sides one coal the other iron, lumps->grind->alloy->furnace.

But for stainless you need 3 carbon steel and 1 chromium. i can do the lumps->grind but from there im stuck because i need to feed 3 carbon steel to 1 chromium. so i need this.

|--Alloy-->Furnace.
Chromium------>|

Hi DoyleChris,

how do you manage to get coal and iron one-by-one for the carbon steel alloying?

The same way you should be able to trigger 3 parallel queues from your carbon steel depot and one queue from your chromium depot into the alloy furnace.
Best regards

I got it halfway figured out. I have to chests 1 for carbon steel and 1 for chromium. The only with steel has 3 single injectors on 3 sides and 1 for chromium. Then they join together trigger the mesecon to send a new set.

Things im trying to improve.
1. Set it up so if i run out of chromium or steel the automation stops.
2. Having a central storge that i can teleport ingots and blocks to the machine line.
A. Using a teleport tube from the storage to the line.
B. Using A wireless mesecon to control the injectors.
