How do you add patches?
ive seen a lot of people say "this is a patch that...". most look cool but i dont know how to use them.

"Patch" usually means a patch to the source code, which makes it essentially a different version of the game. They can distributed as a build, source archive, source repo, or *.patch file, maybe other ways. What patches are you looking at?
