We need to put the "facebook likes" page on the Minetest forums pages like Terasology does on their forums. It will encourage people from this community to like it on facebook and vice versa. Terasology already has 2800 likes! I had written off terasology a while back because it was so laggy and there was no modding. However they understand marketing, and have come a long way in a short time with a vision of incorporating Dwarf Fortress & npc gameplay and are talking about making modding easier. They also have a growing team of engine developers.

When selling T-shirts there should be as less work as possible.
Why not sell there: http://www.getdigital.de/index/partnermotive/lng/en or in similar shops?
They print it for you, advertise it, sell it and you get money out of it. Price would be here 7,90€ per t-shirt + money that goes to the project + shipping.
Shipping is a bit expensive in this shop but there are others that do the same thing.
The money that goes to minetest can be 1€ or so because the money is secondary, what counts is to bring the message out there: "We have something better than minecraft and it is free!".
My ingame name is "john", my IRC name is "john_minetest".
I am chef mod on this server: minetest.org : 30015(see here)

Sell the shirts on Ebay. Then the money can go to everyone who contributed to the shirts.

Selling T-shirts is okay. But why should we take 3-4 bucks?
It's about "Getting Minetest out there more", not about "Getting a lot of money out of minetest".
Even selling T-shirts without profit would be good, because we only want to have new players, profit is secondary.
I won't buy an expensive t-shirt if i don't know that the money made with this will go to the project.
I said it in a post before: There are online shops that print and sell your shirts.
Price the one who buys it has to pay is t-shirt+money that goes to the project+shipping.
Even 1$ would be okay for the money that goes to the project, because it is all about advertising our project.
When we have more players, we could sell lots of stuff (merchendaise) to them, but atm the community is only
a bunch of mod and core developers that maybe won't buy the stuff, that the masses would buy.

I'm not the one selling them so not my decision
Sometimes, it's harder to think up a mod than it is to create it.

Yes, I know. It is Ragnar's plan and iirc he already printed some shirts or has talked to some-
one who can print them. Because he has talked to the printer, he wants parts of the money that is made.
So he, of course, wants to sell them as expensive as possible so he gets most out of his percentage.
IMHO money is quite useless for minetest. There could be done a lot with money, yes, but most of the
work is done by the community, and if there is more community, things can be made that would not be
possible or only be possible with a huge amount of money without the community helping so much.
