It should be Linux as this game was made for Linux and has more Linux users.
EDIT: Screw my old self... The Linux users would already know how to install stuff (probably). There will be more Windows users who don't know how to install stuff.

Since Minetest 0.4.7 has a new way to enable and use mods, I decided to make this updated video, that show's how to download, extract and enable mods.
How To Install Mods! Updated For Minetest 0.4.7
I actually didn't know how to enable it. I just guessed and it actually worked out fine! ;-)

You should have choosen a mod that is hosted on a not so stupid file sharing site. Normally you get a direct download link to the .zip
Also a note that you maybe have to rename the mod folder would be nice.

I would suggest you add a list of people who actively support the channel (i.e. making videos) in the "About" tab. This would be AFAIK only you, Aqua.
(To be honest, I dislike the name "Minetest Community"; its really arrogant to think that you are the community)

What about doing the following with the channel:
1 asign people that can be trusted to manage the channel
2 Accept video submissions from the comunity for example: one fo the managers from the chanel gets lets say video review for a mod from someone in the comunity it's gets checked incase it has something that doesn't go with the rules if it passes as ok it gets uploaded. This would be a better alternative to giving the password to people it would make it safer if that's something you are worried about and the content gets checked before being uploaded also would be nice to put the name or alias on the screen and description. This was just an idea. :) Good luck with the channel

I'm sorry. I did not create the channel, david did. I'm trying to keep it alive. It's impossible to make a 'community' channel without people just being plain dumb. At this point, I guess the best solution is to take down the channel along with its videos. Linxx has a very good idea, but it'll take a lot of work to get it running smoothly. And I'm not bothered to. So the password is above for whoever wants it. Maybe renaming it would be a good idea (something like 'The Unofficial Minetest Bros')(that was lame). There's really no point in running a 'community channel' if half the community complains about it.
Anyway I'll be posting my videos on my channel and not giving a sh*t about the community channel anymore.

Im sorry that it didnt work out as davidspace thought. I guess it would be best if you reupload your videos to your personal channel.

my 2p about the channel: i think having a youtube channel is a good thing for 2 reasons:
- you can put tutorials on it& help new players
- you can get a bit attention from the general public

Taking it down would not be the best option in my oppinon, it would be better to do as Linxx proposed:
define some guidelines, let the community submit videos, maybee sort them into playlists

Yes, that would be great. Also, I am willing to make videos for it too.

Added two categories to the home page:

  • Getting Started
  • Customizing Minetest
  • Minetest Movies

To add a video to one of these categories, add it to the playlist with the same name.
It is possible to add videos from other channels.

I tried adding this channel art but it was too small

On this channel, I would suggest that only the best videos are choosen.

Some of the current ones are quite bad in presentation :P
Very windows movie maker.

I would also suggest that good videos from other channels are highlighted in the playlists.

Subscribing to other channels is a good way to get popularity, as they often subscribe you back.

A new up date to you tube means that you get invite people to manage your channel via google plus (which is added already to your account)

Anybody home ;) We're waiting for the channel to come outta the coma , it looked awesome.
Also shouldn't just one person have access to the channel? Everyone could still make the videos but they'd have to get them to Aqua. (or whoever runs this channel).
I test mines.
