I'm going to buy a second pi, dedicated as a minetest server. Does that count?

hmm, here's an idea, in the mod thread (if so desired) you could have a "donate" link in which you can click on adds ove and ove and over if you feel like donating. that way, you don't have to actually fork money out to support someone, that person generates more revenue, and we can still maintain a non-intrusive add area. In my experience with freemium games (I have a LOT) the ones that work best are the ones that have some premium currency, but also have a way to earn said currency by watching adds, or using tapjoy and downloading other apps. extremely effective advertising. you watch video, get advertisement exposure, game company gets a little bit of money, and advertisers get people willingly watching adds (best are 30 seconds or less. otherwise you just set it down and do something else till it's done)

As for the results of advertising this way, look at clash of clans. they used those advertising systems to get people to watch it. voluntary advertising is the future of advertisements. so why not utilize it for our own gain?
