Wait, what? How is it even possible to use any controller for Minetest?

I use the default controls (as of 0.4.10), except for chat, which is on Z. I use QWERTZ layout.

I will break all of the stats. I use AZERTY.
My move controls are organized around the G key, which is the center of the letter keys area.
Move foreward : B
Move backward : V
Use / Move down : N
Jump / Move up : Space
Move left : F
Move right : H
Drop : Return
Inventory : G
To enable the privileges, I've chosen the up right corner of the letters area.
Fly : P
Fast : O
Noclip : I

I have figured out why it doesn't work: set a screenshot path by hand in minetest.conf using screenshot_path = /home/<user>/Images/minetest, then create a minetest directory in the Images directory.

If the path doesn't exist, directories won't be created, no screenshot will be made.

Thanks! I've tried it out, creating the path in minetest.conf and creating the Images/minetest directory. However it didn't work (as I expected though).

The problem is that sometimes I get a black screenshot, sometimes none at all. In all cases my screen starts to flicker black. En/disabeling the mouse pointer had no effect.

In the (far) past F12 did work. To make a screenie I now use large screen and the old fashioned <prt sc> key. So this is only a luxury problem.

I strongely suspect the problems are related to minetest being run under Virtualbox/Lubuntu.

use? what's use do??

Yes, it's not well explained. When you have the "fast" enabled and the "fast" privilege, hold the use key to run very fast (about 18 nodes/second).
If you check the checkbox "Use = climb down", you can climb down ladders with this key, and also swim down, and move down when you fly.
