Why isn't there an official YouTube channel for Minetest? Minecraft are able to generate plenty of hype with trailers and whatnot. I'd especially like to see a trailer made.

Because no-one bothered to make one. Duh! ;-)

Any ideas what such a channel should include? What do you mean with “trailer”? Minetest is not a movie. ;-)

Well Minecraft has a trailer... (maybe sneak in a little "we're not owned by an evil empire" in there too... ;P)
Maybe highlighing of new features and a "mod of the month" thing celebrating the Minetest indie community.
I'd make one myself if I had the time.

How about having some tutorials for some of the new players that dont know much. There could also be some videos showing off new and popular texture packs. There could also be videos of some of the amazing buildings people build on servers. Also how about showing some of the servers. Someone said mod highlights, I think that would be amazing to do.
I think someone should make a Minetest Youtube Channel.

Minetest history wouldn't be interesting for me, I would prefer mod showcases.

Maybe Meldrian would be interested, he makes awesome minetest videos, and is basically the bastion of minetest lets plays
