Public server unable to login

I know that this server I have been trying to get on is up but when I type my password in it keeps saying connecting. I know it is up because of the Admin and another one of my friends that gets on it. I type my password in correctly and I can get on other servers, so what is the problem? The admin keeps telling me I type my password wrong, but I logged on it earlier and it worked, I type the same password in now and it doesn't. When I first had this issue was right after I timed out 1 time.

Try pinging the server. sometimes you can see a server but it won't mean still can connect to it.

If on Windows use CMD and do ping <server address>
If linux Idk since I use Windows.

I know this issue from Minetest 0.4.7, haven't got any big connecting problems since then.
A ping to the server could be useful (as Alt. Tester already said above).
Or just ask the server owner to restart minetestserver, maybe it helps.

To mimic Windows ping in Linux, sending four packets:
Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.
Code: Select all
ping -c4 www.google.com

Not using the -c flag will ping until you hit ctrl-c.
