FOSS gamedev and creative worlds

Hey,
i have no idea about this game.
I joined one of the big servers (public from the forums). Now im running around to find ONE single good tree to make sticks to make an stone pike to mine faster. But i cannot find anything.

Also what about other rare stuff you have to find, wont that all bne minred allready? Or does it regrow?

Sorry for noobishness. I never played minetest or minecraft before :D I really love thi game though....

If its a really big Server, you must go far away from Spawn if you want to find Trees.
Trees don't regrow

Unless of course they planted saplings :3

Or unless the growing mod is installed, in which case, you'd better run before the tree eats you. -.-

t doesnt regrow any block that is covered by another block has the potential to be anything, because its not rendered yet just start digging into a wall underground you will find stuff, and mine the leaves off trees to get saplngs that grow into trees in a couple ingame days

i personally dont like the growing mod, mountains of cactus and vines reaching the cloud in just a couple hours. its kind of iritating

if it was toned down just a bit on that stuff i would probly actully use it.

To answer your question directly.

Yes resources will be low around the spawn area/any town created.

This is why most people on minetest go out on "trips" to gather resources. As stated by other people, its when a player goes far away from the spawn point, town, or common area used, in search of resources.

One thing a player can do for trees and other certain resources, is to gather their "stage 1" item, and use/plant them and grow them in a somewhat protect fashion, such as underground underneath your home.

You can adjust the timings used by the ABMs to fit your need. That is the best part of using LUA mods: You can make small changes to fit any of your personnal needs.

it's a good Idea to change the mods, so they fit to your personal needs.
But you can only do that on your own server
