There should be an option on the main menu, when you first start the game. To choose a terrain type; desert, arctic, jungle, forest, valley, flatland, hell, so on and so on. And making texture packs a deeper less user friendly thing, meant only to be created by developers.

Good idea. I can get a flatland by commenting out half of the generator but a built in switcher would be sooo much easier :)

Um, why? I disagree. I think that a tool to make texture creation easier would be nice, acually.

This was something I was thinking about myself when I was playing Sim City 2000 the other day. You were able to select the type of terrain you'd liked when starting a new map.

i reckon a mixture of all of them in different parts instead of pretty muck the same!! 1

I already made a desert biome + currently develop a cave biome and a flatland biome :)
