I have burnt out torches on my walls?
Do they burn out?
How do you get torches that DO NOT burn out?
Is there a mod that stops them burning out?

I really dont want to have to replace torches all the time..can I disable this feature?

If you are using my more_fire mod yes they will, you can change this behavior by editing the config.txt file in the mod directory to have finite torches be false.

Thanks, I just figured it was part of Minetest.

Nope, I did that to encourage people to make the oil lanterns which just need lantern oil but don't burn out.

I just made an oil lantern and it lit up without the need for oil?
Also any idea how to turn off torch damage when using the 3D Armor Mod?

Btw, Casimir`s stoneage mod also has the burning out torches feature (and other fun "annoying" stuff), still like this. As well as the more_fire models. :)

Oil lanterns will always lit up a little bit, I think I set it to one, putting oil in the lantern will make it brighter, again assuming your using the more_fire mod.

How do you put oil in them?
They have no UI.

I think then that you must not be using the more_fire mod, or are using a very outdated version of it. The lamps in my mod look like this.

I downloaded the ZIP from your Mods thread, and my lamps dont look like that.

EDIT - I just grabbed the DEV version and now the lamps are correct, I think you need to update your DL link in your thread.

I agree Nathan's option,"Torches burn out" is a good idea.it will make mt more fun to think about how to balance the source and usage.not only for creative, but also try to live a real life in mt.

it's a challenge for me,and make me exciting.i have think about to edit all lanterns's code to work like this.so i can change and mentain my house or someplace.
