Old days with spawn under a lava got me thinking, here is my idea to people who want some original server: You start say at -2000 under the ground with small room with some scarce tools and lots of wood, there are lots of lava around (say 80% of everything around, but also some ore and rocks to provide you with tools), your goal is to reach the surface of the Earth where you will be granted full inventory of gold and big shop with everything (and a permit to build of course).

Could make a interesting subgame as well.

How about making lavacooling spawn ores in stone?

CaveRealms has a features that allows for spawning players in cave, and a lot of lava. I had a short-lived server where you started -10k deep but only I was crazy enough to dig to the top. But I didn't have CaveRealms, and if I did, I might not have bothered. It's still something I'd like to try again.
