Use custom noiseparams (as explained in minetest.conf) to raise average terrain level so that seas become smaller lakes.
Add these to .conf but increase the first number:
Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.
Code: Select all
mgv7_np_terrain_base = 4, 70, (600, 600, 600), 82341, 5, 0.6, 2.0
mgv7_np_terrain_alt = 4, 25, (600, 600, 600), 5934, 5, 0.6, 2.0

The first number is the average terrain level for the 2 terrain types, increase them by the same amount, perhaps start by increasing by 16 then tune to taste.
Then increase mountain height:
Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.
Code: Select all
mgv7_np_mount_height = 256, 112, (1000, 1000, 1000), 72449, 3, 0.6, 2.0

Increase the first number by the chosen amount.

Not yet, but lua_api.txt has some explanation of noise parameters, although it's rather technical.

After raise average terrain level (on the advice of paramat) decreased number of lakes. Does there a way to increase number of lakes after raise average terrain level on a smooth landscape?

Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.
Code: Select all
mgv7_np_terrain_base = 4, 70, (600, 600, 600), 82341, 5, 0.6, 2.0
mgv7_np_terrain_alt = 4, 25, (600, 600, 600), 5934, 5, 0.6, 2.0

You can split the lakes up into a larger number of smaller lakes by increasing octaves from 5 to 6 and/or increasing persistence from 0.6 to 0.7. However this will make the smooth landscape less smooth.
