How Exactly Does One Get a Sound Pack?

by Minerz » Fri Sep 18, 2015 03:20

Hi,
I am very new to the forums and this is my first post. If you guys don't mind, can one of you tell me how to get a Sound Pack? I have tried to get one already, (Being the Minecraft Sounds one by KingSmarty) and it gave me an error.
Thanks in advance,

Oh! BTW, the error is this: ERROR: ModError: Failed to load and run
C:\Users\LORD\Documents\minetest-0.4.12-win64-msvc\minetest-0.4.12\bin\
Check debug.txt for details.

I am not sure what a Minecraft soundpack is
but if you mean sounds based on environment
there is the ambience mod with many forks.

These two forks are the latest and probably your best choices:
Tenplus1's ambience_redo
JP's Ambience - ultralite edition

Minetest has some sound effects by default, you need to install OpenAL to make them work, if that is what you mean.

You can install sound packs in minetest/sounds/ iirc.

I have tried to install a Sound Pack called "Minecraft Sounds" by KingSmarty. It didn't work though the error is in my second post.

Minecraft sounds by Kingsmarty might not be intended for minetest.
Where did you get it?

You may be able to rename the files for minetest usage.

Edit
Okay I found it

Its intended to replace the default mods sounds I think.
