Where to put texturepacks and mods in Ubuntu?

by Kpenguin » Sun Oct 04, 2015 18:20

Hi guys,
I can't find where to put texturepacks or mods in Ubuntu 14.04. Neither of those folders are in the .minetest folder in my home directory. Could you please show me where?
Thanks!

I don't think those folders are made when you install Minetest system wide.
Try making a folder call textures and put texturepacks in there, and a folder called mods and put the mods in there.

(Of course, if you didn't install Minetest system wide, this won't help, but I presume you did, as it's the default way...)

In ~/.minetest, create a textures directory. The directory structure should be like this:

Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.
Code: Select all
textures/
└── example
    ├── default_apple.png
    ├── default_dirt.png
    ├── default_stone.png
    └── …

So if it installed by ubuntu repositories
mods directory will be in: /home/youruser/.minetest/mods/
and texture packs directory will be in: /home/youruser/.minetest/textures/
if those folders is not exist just create it manualy

Remember that .folder is a hidden folder. Ctr h shows hidden files and folders.
Many of my mods are now a part of Minetest-mods. A place where you know they are maintained!

A list of my mods can be found here
