CTF in MT? None ever heard of Quake III? OpenArena? Unreal Tournament? Why does it have to be MT?

Can you dig or place things in either of those? An important part of ctf's gameplay is that the players build the bases

You can build in Team Fortress 2 :D Minetest seems too laggy for CTF, or any PvP.

That's because the people that make the servers, have very low-hardware!
And the servers with good hardware are the ones who have many players with very high ping and lag....

You can build machines and things in TF2, but you can't build base structures and terrain, which I think is what rubenwardy was getting at.

It's definitely arguable that Minetest is bad for fast-paced FPS-ish PvP, but for this kind of building + PvP, Ace of Spades is the only similar game that comes to mind. This is not even considering forms of pvp where precise control and timing isn't a major factor.

If we're to have any PvP, we need server side movement and client side prediction. As always, I point to Quake III.

It is very easy to point games that were created for a single purpose. Minetest surprises me by allowing accomplish anything. Minecraft allows PvP servers with optimal performance.

I killed already about 30 players in a CTF match. Could kill more.
