FOSS gamedev and creative worlds

Do you think that if you use original code, and textures, if you have a mod that uses the idea of making diamond tools that you can still be sued by minecraft. I was thinking about that, I noticed how they left stuff for other game developers, like wool is not what we use most frequently for beds, and clothes. We use cotton, and mining for diamonds seems fine. But making diamond tools is so abstract and un-realistic, it would probably be considered intellectual property. Like speaking, you cannot be sued for saying 'Hello' but if you entitled something 'Hello' you can. Anyone have an answer?

No you can't get sued by minecraft for an idea. If they could Celeron would have gotten sued bigger than s**t.

Miners delight was just a modification of the GUI of minetest.

It had textures for diamonds which is not in mine test.

you can't be sued for encorperating ideas from other games..having diamonds would be cool in place of mese

gold pick destroy hard stones - its bite glamorous but looks soooo strange...

Why would we need anything beyond mese pickaxe?

yes and i love mese if it was removed i dont know what id do directed to selfishcar and i would love a ton of new ores in minetest not repalcing things

With all the diferent types of tools and weapons already available, i'd rather see vegetation and default nodes expanded a bit instead.

ive already customized my default->init.lua to remove all the other tools except mese pickaxe so i have more room for nodes you can build stuff with. (creative mode)

Yeah, maybe you're right.
It would be cool to have more ores than Minecraft.
BTW. Is mese supposed to be Gold, but with another name?

Well having gemstones is cool, but just stacking them around the place isnt innately decorative unless youre building a bank. We'd have to be able to craft the gemstones into pots, vases, god knows what else?

If you want mese to be gold just go on google images and look up gold 16x16p and switch that for default_mese.png in mods /default/textures/

no mese is a joke in game i think..... you should ask c55 i guess
