Nothing out rightly impressive about this world other than this is what my six year old son has been working on over the past two weeks. I started out with 0.3.1 with Windows clients on XP for both of my children (8 year old daughter plays with it as well) and we've since gone to 0.4.dev-20120106 on the server (Ubuntu). I found that the clients crashed on both of the XP installs, so we've since dual booted his machine to Ubuntu and he's learning to use Linux a bit now (overall this is a win in many aspects).

We're using creative mode for the ease of building and getting used to the world\play. I've put a couple of mods into play including Animals (figured how to "defang" the vampires by changing fighting.lua -> local damage_done modified to * 0 versus + 1 in the calculation) and things have been working out pretty well.

End result, we're enjoying this!

Lava from above? Build up until you are at the same level of the tallest point of the lava, build over and place a block of material in the same spot of the uppermost block of lava. You should start seeing it dissolve and back flow. Lather, Rinse and Repeat until the lava is gone. Learned the hard way when my six year old introduced lava above our main building area.

I once was tinkering with the nuke mod and the hardcore one (don't remember it's name right off). Put a + pattern of hardcore mese tnt. Put a few iron tnt in there. Set off the iron tnt then the hardcore mese...

Result? Let's just say minetest and the computer didn't like it. I also found out that once out of some range the mese tnt will wait to detonate until someone gets within range. Raining activated mese tnt anyone? lol

I've only ever seen 1 above ground DM, and 2 underground ones at the same time,.

DM's seems to be in the new version more common. I had even about 20-30 dm's on a place.

I've been playing around with Kahrl's shader branch and made a disco shader ^_^ admittedly I don't know anything about writing shaders I was just messing around with it lol.

Maybe there should be rarely generated hallucinogenic fruits that enable this shader when you eat them. ;)

Yes! plus it could effect the player controls so it would cause the player to stagger around, man if they where added I would so have to add depth of field to this shader haha.

Also don't suppose you know how I would get only certain types of blocks/entities via a shader? I'm trying to make a wavy grass & leaf shader but can't figure out how I grab them only in a shader, I'm guessing the shader class will need some sort of define for each item or something that can be called from within a shader :S

I'm not even sure how to make the shader work with water/leaves as it is now but that might be related to what I said above ^_^ I've also done a badprint type shader and black & white gloss shader...but for some reason they don't work unless the folder they reside in is called "the_darkness_of_light"
