The wonderful Kenney inspired me to get back into the modding community for a night.
Image
I created an Apocalpyse Survival game mode -
see the world turn to ashes as the sun comes nearer

I also made a building staffs mod I may release the next days.
Those staffs allow you to create beautiful worlds much faster and easier.
Image
The 4 staffs allow, to rapidly add greenery, make roads, create swamps ... and grow those huge mushrooms out of tree saplings.

Office Space To Let

Space is now available in a newly completed modern open plan office tower.

Features include:

Ground floor entertainment centre

Glass mezanine floor above well lit dance hall

Nearby to well stocked mine

Image

Mine includes all necessary modern conveniences and boasts a "Natural Sculpture" room as a tourist attraction. The sculture artist claims that he did not create these sculptures and that they are naturally formed. All he did was use modern mining techniques to expose them.

Engine bug resulted in this, which actually looked kinda artsy:

Huh, neat. Any idea what caused it?
Also, which theme is that?

It's caused by a glitch in the code that interprets L-systems models used by the spawn_tree() call. It doesn't properly manage the memory and map space that's used to spawn a tree, so it sometimes spawns just junk above the tree instead of air.

The window theme is one I made by re-coloring the XFCE "Keramic" theme.

I found giant mass of cakes while exploring last night. Used world edit to delete 37,000 of them. What bug is this?

I like that very much! May I use/modify the heart textures for my 8x8 texture pack? I was having a little trouble deciding on how to do those.

there is a bug in 0.4.11 which causes some operations (l-system trees and lua voxelmanipulators) to put random nodes into the map. the type of nodes depends on the mods installed.

Thanks for the clarification.
Hybrid Dog wrote:Which cakes?

A simple nodebox cake mod I made awhile ago that I lost interest in when meshnodes became reality. Although it is pretty cool. When you punch, it becomes 3/4, 1/2, 1/4 sized until gone. Drops a slice you can pick up and eat with each punch. Never notice the mod causing issue before 0.4.11-dev.
I'll post the code on request if it will help solving the bug.

I'll post some screenies to keep with the spirit of this screenshot topic. Sorry to hijack the thread.

Two stacks of cake. The first stack has 7,000 above ground. There are 20,000 below ground. I didn't even get to deleting the background floating stack.
Image
A closer view of the first stack so we can see what this tasty structure is made up of. :P
It seems the topmost cakes resemble what the terrain should look like. Almost like the terrain was made from cake then pushed upwards by even more cakes.

ExterDad: Mapgens V5, V7 haven't shown this bug as of yet, as L-Systems only runs within MGv6.

The cake bug might be caused by a missing content id used for vm. l think if l use the wrong nodename for minetest.get_content_id(), vm uses always the same id, which doesn't always belong to the same node.

And l would like to see the code.

It's caused by a core engine corruption bug.

I haven't tested without it yet. Our map is huge and new ground rarely gets generated. That said, there's no telling how long this has gone unnoticed. This is hard to duplicate, it took me much exploring to witness both times this occured. Since I'm running many mods, and some are modpacks... it might take a lifetime to rule each one out. Both cases happened in or near desert. Also the namespace is "yummy" so it is the last on the modlist.
I'm really not crazy about this turning into a bug report on this thread. So if a moderator would kindly move all this elsewhere, I would think it more appropriate :)
