ShadMOrdre, could you use nodes instead of nodeboxes and implement those trees as giant trees?

I'm playing with engine code. These are high-density dungeons and intersect, so it may be possible to travel quite far up inside. Here's a better one without the central square column, just dungeons:

Comparison of default tree and nodebox tree. Before you say, "Oh Minetest is a cube world!", realize, that in ten years, those cubes will be measured in millimeters or less. Besides, these are generated and ran on 10+ year old hardware, some with Windows and one with Lubuntu 14. And of course, the Lubuntu box, being the least, hardware wise, still outperforms some of my newer boxes with Windows. If only I could ditch windows......

ShadMOrdre, sorry, it made me remember the time l made the riesenpilz mod. There l made nodebox mushrooms, you can spawn giant node mushrooms from them.
In comparison to the nodebox mushrooms, the grown ones don't always have the same look.
Your trees' nodebox nodes can't get more variety without many additional nodes, e.g. you can't add randomly placed moss to them. But if you make the trees 16x as big, you could build big tree houses and add holes where bird mobs can hatch their eggs. There's enough space in minetest and people like giant structures, see paramat's dungeon of babel.

The setup for the purple tree really looks awesome!
My own opinion is, maybe, if you use the same "form" for the aspen trees, but higher up, the aspens would look perfect.
I only say this as, the way the aspens look in the pic, seems a bit odd. Using the same shape as the purple tree would look far more natural

Not sure about the acacia though... maybe if you can find a way to make the trunk lean a bit?
