As for me, floatlands are big disadvantage of mapgen than advantage or cool feature.
That's whay I prefer valleys mapgen — interesting landscape without v7's freaks.

formspecs are fussy. They get annoying because you need to keep doing, adjust, load, look, nope.... adjust, load, look, nope.... it's the same with graphical bootloaders and splash screens, etc...
