Did you take pictures of a potato and then use photogrammetry and import it to minetest as a giant potato using default nodes and mipmapping to make it look brown this way?

Don't be silly, that's obviously a painstaking recreation of the asteroid, 99942 Apophis, as it hurtles toward Earth!

did you put teleporters into the portals?
one more reason to develop a mapgen that generates multiple realms.

No teleporters I'm afraid.

I built nine more gates recently, all of which are on different creative servers:

There's not much to it actually :-)

XFCE doesn't restrict the window size when manually re-sizing it, so I just stretched the window across my three 1600x1200 monitors, then moved it up as high as I could, and stretched it down again, effectively covering 6 monitors' worth of area. Then just center my view, hit F12, and upload the result.

I'm impressed and I'm the one who built it. This is to scale to the real Tokyo Big Sight being 1 block==1 meter in real world. Still massive amount of work to be done and always searching for more reference material of videos and photos.

If you want to do that on one monitor, just use xrandr to give yourself a giant virtual screen:

Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.
Code: Select all
 xrandr --output VGA0 --rate 60 --mode 1280x800 --fb 3000x1000 --panning 3000x1000

You can then pan around by mousing to the edge of your visible screen.

Of course, you'll have to fill in your output, rate, and mode, as well as the virtual size. (xrandr --query) To undo it, either restart xwindows or run the same command with all the sizes set to your normal size.

Warning: This may adversely affect your framerate in the game... a lot.
