I'm so wondered... You even created an "Google Mail"...

So it's likely a "fan club" for Minetest fans?
Sounds good...

Not a fan club. Minetest central is more of a community source to find the best mods and show off amazing servers/worlds and other community content. Basically I want to turn it into Yogscast but for minetest!

How many servers are you planning to host and what are your criteria for adding new servers?

Currently we are working on planning the first Server and we plan on having at least 3 servers just to start out.

Some questions about the whole project to clean up some thing I haven't understood yet:
1) Why do you need a survey? The question "What would like to do?" is the only relevant one in there. All other is collecing of personal data (which I hate btw).
2) Who are the members of the "we" you're always using to formulate a sentence?
3) How do you plan to communicate with the members of "Minetest Central"? (Pointing out that many people I know use IRC)

It is a good idea to motivate the people to contribute something more to the whole Minetest community. I think this would (if done correctly) make the project more known and bring it onwards.

Well you beat me to it.

On the back of the virtual meetup I was trying to shell out format, goals and requirements for a podcast.

Maybe I'll still do it, with a different slant that the Minetest Central group. Never hurts to have multiple angles ;-)

I second this concern.

In light of the first, this too.

If this is going to be community-driven, it's good to know who is involved, what roles, what they are bringing.

Also what's your funding model? Cause server's ain't free. Doesn't have to be professional or anything, and nothing is stopping you from making a profit from it even (consider donations to the core project developers in mind too, if any money is to be involved), but it's best to be up front about how you're planing this. The less surprises, the better chance of gaining support.

The "survey" is for Joining the Youtube Channel. That is why there is some personal information requested because I wanted to know a little about people before contacting them and asking them what content they would like to make or how they wanted to work on the project. Currently I need people to help make Videos and content, as I work full time as a designer/freelance photographer. Not sure what you mean by funding a server? I've ran some in the past just fine and they we're up 24/7.

Great videos. Short, sharp and single topic. Only the MC logo at the end looks. Weird. White text on the logo is not great to read. And MC as an abbreviation is already used by another voxel game. :)

Thanks! I'm still working out the kinks with the outro as that one is currently a place holder!

If you're running them all from your home, then that cuts out the cost - will the outgoing network speed be OK if you have several servers, with several users, each, and you upload YT videos at the same time?

I run my servers outside my home network - for basic security reasons, and performance; of course, I have to pay for them.

I noticed on the questionnaire form that you ask if people are wanting to run a Minetest Central server - would the deployment model be that members of MtC team would be responsible for hosting servers? What about reliability of servers? Uptime as provided by members? What happens when they go on holiday and need to shut everything down?

And again - who is "we"? Will there be anyone aside from those who request to be contributing members?

Also you mention giving access to software - what software is this? Do you have the license to provide its use to other users than yourself? Or are they open source? Either way, why not simply name the software?

I would have the servers run from my home. My up speed why streaming Netflix is on average 17Mbps so I think I can handle a server or two. They would be ran off a server running Linux Mint Server or Ubuntu Server. As I like ubuntu for the simplicity but LinuxMint uses less RAM. It would run off of my ThinkServer witch uses a Intel Xexon at 3.5Ghz and has 16Gb RAM. And the people who run the server would be moderators if this thing gets to be as big as I would like it to be. For the software I was going to recommend some freeware alternatives to Fraps/Bandicam.
