FOSS gamedev and creative worlds

I've been away from Minetest for a while, but I recently saw a video on Twitch where 3 teams were playing Minecraft and competing to see who could reach a set of goals first. It looked like a lot of fun and was wondering if there's anything like that going on in Minetest?

What were the goals like? Speed building or obstacle courses or what?

Objectives were:
- Build a nice base
- Design a team logo then import it to the game
- Collect 3456 wheat

But, those goals aren't really related to my question. Was wondering if there was any type of team competitions. Like even capture the flag?

Interesting. But, I was wondering if anyone does host competitions? I would love to participate. If not, I think it would also be fun to set one up, but I don't think I can host a server for it.
