Hi,

I was trying the wooden fence recipe in minetest 0.4.15 from (http://wiki.minetest.com/wiki/Crafting#Misc_Recipes) and it is not working. Anyone knows why?

the recipe was changed in 0.4.14, but the wiki has not been updated. It now has "wood, stick, wood" for each of the 2 rows.

I do not understand what is happening

wiki.minetest.com is an old outdated site hosted by an individual while
wiki.minetest.net is the official minetest wiki.

the relevant page http://wiki.minetest.net/Fence seems to be fairly up to date with the current game.

I did indeed update some details of the page at com only to notice later that I was on the wrong wiki when I wanted to work on other pages.

The contents of the wiki at the .com site had all been copied to the .net site when the new official wiki was created.
Please use the wiki at http://wiki.minetest.net as resource for information related to the current version of minetest

Someone seriously needs to nuke wiki.minetest.com. This just causes trouble and does not help at all.
Or at least put a very big fat warning on EVERY page.

In fact, all the Minetest wikis seem to need some serious updating. For example I just found that the recipe for TNT on http://wiki.minetest.net/TNT does not work anymore as of 0.4.15

Minetest Game is still lacking a crafting guide which is an inexcusable failure IMO, as many subgames already have one: BFD, Carbone NG, Pixture, Lord of the Test, VoxBox, Minetest Hades, Minetest TNG, rpgtest, Regnum and VoxBox. I hope the developers will add one in the future.

The recipe which you just saw on the wiki was for the development version of Minetest Game and not 0.4.15. This has been recently changed by mistake. I have reverted this edit.

I was once a heavy wiki editor but I have stopped updating it for Minetest Game 0.4.15—mostly. For crafting recipes, a crafting guide is MUCH better anyways. For other help I created a modpack: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=15912&p=240152

I fully agree.
Minetest is still quite unstable and it is difficult to maintain documentation that changes constantly.
Dynamic Mods can help with this.
