Non-OpenGL graphics

Hello, my laptop has AMD graphics and Debian Linux. Minetest will crash unless I have fps_max = 8. I've found with other stuff on my laptop that if I just change the graphics it uses from OpenGL to something else, it works fine. Is there a way with minetest.conf to make the graphics type be something other than OpenGL?

Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.
Code: Select all
video_driver = burningsvideo

You can also try "software" instead of "burningsvideo".
Don't expect it to be very playable, though.

I found playing at "IhrFussel's Server" ran very smoothly,
I even got the impression that it's faster then local singleplayer.

I don't know why, but trying to run MT on my gaming pc (i5, 8gb ram, gtx 960 4g) using OpenGL only gets me ~50 - 60 fps, but software gets be ~60 fps all the time. :/ I'm not sure why, it works BETTER than OpenGL, which uses the GPU.
