Help!!! where do I find lava?

Hi? this is my first time posting a topic. i was wondering where I can find lava. the reason is because i need obsidian for the nether

To find lava, you need to dig deep. I would suggest a straight shaft with the jumpsneak ladder technique.

... and using the minimap helps to find resources underground.
Surface mode shows lava and other spots, radar mode shows caves!

Lava is found deep underground in the form of lakes. Its exact height (Y) depends on the map generator you're using.
If you use v6, lava is found at Y=-32 and below, for all other map generators it's Y=-273 and below.

Well i went deeper but unfortunately i was killed by a mob
