Well there are few ways to make MINTEST Run faster than usual one of that is you should Keep the Laptop/PC up to date

Downloadables : (ONLY IF YOU WANTED TO)

GameBooster
Lagbuster (Alternative)
SwiftShader 3.0
WireFrame (Search For The highest Update)

if minetest (any version) is laggy

Just do this :

go to game properties

CHeck the Box : Run thisprogram in compability mode for

Select Windows 95 ( recommended)
or Windows Me/98
The CHeck the Boxes Of

Run in 256 colors
Disable Visual themes
Disable Desktop Composition
Disable Display Scaling on High DPI settings

then if you have GameBooster Run the game by using it

Just right Click the game And you will see Run with gameBooster
After the game Ran go to TASK MANAGER

Go to Process TAB
Find Minetest.exe
Rightclick and Set Priority to high

Dont Try to Set it to Realtime If you do : the game will have problems
Some Drivers or CPU can run on realtime mode

But that would be The Highest Driver UPDATE

(manual)
Download CCleaner
Check all Boxes on the scan :

reboot if needed

and a lot of memory will be freed

Or go to system and select Disk Cleanup

then run it

And the Finshing Touch :

Download The lowest Resolution pack:
Here's One That i could Recommend
SimpleCraft Texture MOD:

And Enjoy!

Actually, I made a 8 by 8 pack. So that only works for an older MInetest.

Yup! it should be.. the Toon pack?

But It could be Only Installed On Minetest 0.3

Generally changing task priorties at all isn't a great idea. For instance, when I change minetest to high get lots of mouse/control glitches. And to add to what you said, disabling the aero theme has a noticable effect on fps.

well you could go to System Advanced settings and performance settings change it to 4500 to 5000<-- recommended

Exceeding will lead to Application Crahes..
it will also speed your performance

And Enable Battery HIGH PERFORMANCE

Gamebooster/whatever isn't a way to speed up stuff anyway.
