The forums were down because the host machines were moved somewhat unexpectly to an another data center, which caused problems and delayed fixing of them.

On the upside, in the process the hacky platform the site was running on was converted to a more robust one. There shouldn't be more downtime anytime soon.

finally, those four years felt ike a year to me.
