Posting An Issues & Questions For 0.4.1 to Future Minetest

Hello All,
I don't know if this issue was brought up already in recent posts, but MSVCR100.DLL is not present in the 0.4.1 Windows download of Minetest, so i copied over and used the file version from my previous 0.4.0 folder.

Secondly,
as a proud owner of MAC, Ubuntu & Windows PCs in my family home, i was wondering if you had finished a good-working version of 0.4.1 for the MAC & Ubuntu. Since we have SOoooo much cross-OS-platforming going on in my home, i already checked Ubuntu Marketplace and Minetest.Net for any finished self-executable downloads of 0.4.1, but could not find any.

Third,
As for the the Mods and Textures created for 0.4.0, like "Sapien's" are they stable on the updated O.4.1 version?

Thank you very much for all your patience & support in hosting & answering these questions. My children and I are avid fans of Minetest, and appreciate your work and alternative to minecraft.

For Ubuntu you could compile and the person who did the mac version is busy nearly all the time or he has quit making it.

The Mac OS X version is very outdated, it lacks a maintainer.
On Linux, just compile the game yourself... it is far better than using packages:
https://github.com/celeron55/minetest and https://github.com/celeron55/minetest_game
Also, mods are usually forwards-compatible.

Just as a word of warning: compiling yourself can be tricky. So watch out - use make, not checkinstall -D.

Wasn't there a person who got the 20120603 version running on Mac OS X?

I think there was. You just have to compile it.

No need to compile for Ubuntu!

Just add the minetest repository to your package manager and you will receive the newest builds automatically. For the moment being this will be 0.4.1. See https://code.launchpad.net/~minetestdevs/+archive/stable/+packages for details of how to add the repository.

Cheers, Stefan

Ubuntu, 64 bit and all running fine -:)
